Cherrywood is currently Ireland's largest housing development. Platt Reilly completed the external frame of the Steel Framing System and installed circa of 20,000m2 of insulated external render systems. Our team fitted the internal partitions and ceilings plus circa 10,000m2 of soffit insulation to the car park areas of both TC2 and TC4 blocks. Once completed, this will be a 739-unit apartment block comprising a mix of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartment units and ground-floor retail and private communal areas.
Located southeast of Dublin between the Dublin Mountains and the Irish Sea, it's a Strategic Development Zone project which involves creating an ambitious new community. When completed, this new suburb will comprise over 7,700 new homes, six schools, three major parks, leisure and retail facilities, with four separate LUAS stops and serving a planned population eventually of approximately 25,000 people.
The development forms part of the first certified Well Community scheme in Europe, promoting and incorporating sustainability and a greener environment with the design and construction teams also targeting BREEAM Excellent Certification.
